“If we want peace around the world, we need to find it in ourselves”
After the great successes of the last six editions, Culture Ticino Network Association of Lugano is pleased to announce this year the World Forum for Peace! This 7th edition will be held from 13 November to 7 December 2017 and will present the theme of “Peace Communication” in its facets.
It will be a very special edition because within the World Forum for Peace we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Switzerland. For the occasion, we will have the honor of hosting the Ambassador of the Philippines in Bern, an art exhibition of three Philippine artists and renowned international guests.
Six days will have six different locations: the Palazzo dei Congressi, which will involve the kids and students of the schools of Canton Ticino with interesting workshops on the theme of peace; the Villa Sassa Hotel Residence with the extraordinary cultural evening dedicated to PEACE and the PHILIPPINES, during which will be presented the projects of the Association with guests of the Philippines, the vernissage of the art exhibition and the Solidarity Gala Dinner; the Cinema Lux will present fantastic and exciting artistic performances; Franklin University with a public cultural conference; the multipurpose room in Paradiso with a wonderful solidarity show and the Church of St. Antonio in Lugano with the performance of Gospel songs.
Therefore will be an extraordinary event for the purpose of taking the culture of peace and the solidarity close to every generation, through discussions, entertainment and many activities related to the peace.
The peace should spread from the small group, like ourselves, our family, in order to share to the world important values like dialogue and solidarity.
The funds raised during these days are going to support the Association’s projects: the construction of a multipurpose centre in the Philippines , in which provide food, medical exams and cultural-artistic moment for needy children and studets in Paombong; and the culture project “Petali di pace” for the schools and the population of Ticino.
