NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS
The call is now open to grant 8 places for the project “New technologies for sustainability and human rights”, sponsored by Movetia – the Swiss national agency for the promotion of exchanges and mobilities in the education sector – organized thanks to the joint efforts of Culture Ticino Network from Lugano, Fondazione FOQUS from Naples and Fondazione Città della Pace per i Bambini Basilicata from Potenza.
The program consists in five training days, carried out by experts and volunteers, and will take place in Italy, partially in Naples and partially in Potenza, from the 31st of august 2026 to the 6th of September 2026 (including travel days). Beneficiaries of the project include students between 18 and 30 years of age, of whom 8 residing in Switzerland and 8 in Italy, in possession of at least a high school or bachelor diploma.
The aim of the project consists in educating the new generations of young students and professionals in a conscious use of new technological systems. We believe that new technologies, which are becoming increasingly widespread, such as artificial intelligence, biometric recognition, the use of drones, and personal data profiling, could have applications beyond the military and security sectors. On the contrary, we are confident that, if supported by an ethical regulatory framework, they could represent a valuable resource for the development of society as a whole, contributing to the reduction of inequalities and the promotion of democratic and sustainability practices. Notably, the project has two main objectives: foster the exchange of experiences between young people from different cultural and social backgrounds in order to develop their critical thinking skills and equip them with practical and theoretical notions on the use of new technologies. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to become volunteers and collaborate on the initiatives promoted by the project’s creators, like participating in the next “Village for Peace” on November 26, 2026, organized in Lugano.
