SOLIDARITY CONCERT FOR PEACE, A GREAT SUCCESS
Great success and emotions at the Concert for Peace held on June 12, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at Sant’Antonio Abate Church in Lugano, which was a moment of great audience participation and deep emotion. It was a special evening in which music became a vehicle for fundamental values such as peace, solidarity and mutual respect.
The President and Founder of the Culture Ticino Network Association A. Margherita Maffeis-Natale, welcomed the Solidarity Concert for Peace, the first in a series of events planned for 2025. She stressed the importance of promoting peace and human rights and giving a voice to those who have none today, in a world marked by more than 60 armed conflicts. He reiterated that peace must be built with concrete actions, such as this concert and the various initiatives of the Association, which has been active for more than 14 years in promoting peace, human rights and environmental protection, both in Switzerland, neighboring Italy and the Philippines. He also particularly outlined our Association’s events that will take place in this significant 2025, including the important 10th anniversary of the “Village for Peace” and the solidarity show “Together for Peace”, which will be held on November 11 at the Lugano Convention Hall. He invited everyone to actively participate, stressing that peace is everyone’s responsibility.
The undisputed stars of the evening were the choirs “Crescendo Cantando” of the Montessori School “Casa di Irma” in Bedano, directed by teacher Barbara Busana, “La Musica”
directed by teacher and mezzo-soprano Julia Gertseva and the talented girls of the choir “Cantori della Turrita”, directed by Daniela Beltraminelli, who were able to touch the hearts of all present with their voices. Their polished, heartfelt and engaging performances created an atmosphere of great intensity and sharing, demonstrating how music can break down barriers and unite people of all ages and backgrounds.
Each choir brought its own style and sensibility to the stage, but all moved in unison around a common message: building a more peaceful world is possible, and it starts even from simple gestures, such as singing together, listening to each other and recognizing each other. The smiles of the children, the commitment of the directors and the enthusiasm of the audience made the event a truly moving collective experience.
Heartfelt thanks go to all the participating choirs, their teachers and accompanists, the families who supported them, and every person who contributed to the success of this evening. Your presence gave even more value to this moment, reinforcing the conviction that peace education must start precisely from the new generations, actively involving them in artistic, cultural and human paths.
Culture Ticino Network Association is deeply grateful to everyone for believing and participating in this event. It is only together, step by step, that we can continue to sow awareness and build, day by day, a more just, inclusive and peaceful future for all.
The Peace Concert was a concrete example of how beauty and harmony can come from collaboration and a shared desire for a better world. Thank you from the bottom of our heart
Proceeds from the evening were donated to our projects in Ticino and the Philippines.
